APAC's Dave Anderson appointed new NMHOA Executive Director

On July 1, Dave Anderson was appointed the new executive director of the National Manufactured Home Owners Association (NMHOA). NMHOA is a membership-based nonprofit representing the rights and interests of 17 million people living in manufactured homes throughout the United States. He takes over from Ishbel Dickens, who was the first person to hold this position and did so from 2010 to 2016. Dave is well known to those working on manufactured housing issues as the long-time Executive Director of All Parks Alliance for Change (APAC), the statewide association representing Minnesota’s manufactured home owners. He will continue to assist APAC as a part-time Senior Advisor & Management Consultant. NMHOA does not have a permanent, central office, so Dave will continue to live and work in Minnesota.

Dave has worked in the nonprofit sector for 25 years. Since 2004, he has worked with APAC, where he lobbied to establish the Manufactured Home Relocation Trust Fund, organized manufactured home owners to improve and protect their communities, and produced organizing manuals and consumer guides. He also previously served as executive director of the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG), interim executive director of the Minnesota State University Student Association (MSUSA), and associate state director of the Minnesota Senior Federation. Dave holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and is pursuing a Doctorate of Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.

This is not Dave’s first experience with NMHOA. Beginning in 2007, he spearheaded an effort to strengthen and expand the organization. He obtained NMHOA’s first grant funding and provided its first staffing in 2008 and 2009 through a contract between NMHOA and APAC. As NMHOA’S Executive Director, Dave will provide guidance, training and support to the organization’s leaders and coordinate policy advocacy with national partners. This will include helping to organize NMHOA’s annual convention on September 20-22 in Las Vegas, NV and representing the organization at CFED’s Innovations in Manufactured Homes (I’M HOME) annual conference on November 14-15 in San Antonio, TX.
